Introduction

Inspect A-bode provides residential home inspection services in Eugene, OR. Inspect A-bode offers complete home inspections, as well as additional services including electromagnetic field testing, radon testing, and asbestos testing. The service will be available to both buyers and sellers. The vast majority of sales will be from agents who have developed strategic relationships through Inspect A-bode.

In order to reach projected profitability, the company’s two major goals are the utilization/reference of Inspect A-bode in at least five of the top 15 real estate brokers in the area, and to increase the number of clients sold by 20% per year.


The Company

The company will be owned and operated solely by Mr. Chek Dominicile. Twelve years of industry experience has been accumulated by Mr. Domisile. These 12 years of experience will be used to build a competitive advantage and uncompromising professionalism.

Selle Domisile, Chek’s wife, will become a paid consultant. Selle has been a residential realtor for the last 10 years. She will make sure that her existing relationships are used to refer people to Inspect A Bode. The company won’t be adding any employees and will subcontract all accounting/bookkeeping.


Services

The company offers a range of inspection services. These include foundation analysis to check for cracks, settlement, or moisture influx. These inspections check for water pressure and look for any signs of deterioration or leaks. The company’s electrical inspection checks for shorts and loose wires. It also examines the functioning of Ground Fault Interrupt receptacles (GFI) and shock/fire hazards. Interior inspections identify if the house has proper heating and insulation, ventilation, vapor barriers, dry rot, pest infestations and carbon dioxide hazards. Other services include radon testing and electromagnetic field testing.

The cost of the entire service is between $200 and $400, depending on the size of the home, layout, or any special areas like a swimming pool that require extra attention.


The Market

Eugene has about 20 home inspection companies. Most companies are small businesses that offer a standardized service. The items are all identical, as is the price.

Inspect Abode will be focusing their efforts on two types of customers. The first group is real estate agents. A financial incentive will be offered to the agents for referring Inspect Abode customers through their strategic relationships.

Inspect Abode can also target sellers and buyers. Both groups, for different reasons have something to gain from having an inspection of the home they are looking to buy or sell. These people will be targeted by Inspect Abode through targeted advertisements, which will increase visibility for Inspect Abode.

The company will launch an advertisement campaign in Yellow Pages and other publications home buyers typically read.
